Dunkleosteimas are a breed of prehistoric fish-like creatures that vary in appearance according to habitat, folklore, hierarchy and diet.

The word "Dunkleostei-mas" was developed by grouping a couple of relevant words to describe this breed’s gender and animal family.
"Dunkleostei-“ derives from "Dunkleosteus” taxonomic family name for ancient fishes (Dunkleosteus).

“-Mas" derives from "Mas-culine or Male".

While the term Dunkleosteimas describes male Dunkleosteius, “ Dunkleosteifem” describes female Dunkleosteius.
