The word "Colubri-mas" was developed by grouping a couple of relevant words to describe this breed’s gender and animal family.
"Colubri-“ derives from "Colubridae”, taxonomic family name for snakes.

“-Mas" derives from "Mas-culine or Male".


While the term Colubrimas describes male snakes, “ Colubrimas” describes female snakes.
