The word "Dromioi-mas" was developed by grouping a couple of relevant words to describe this breed’s gender and animal family.
"Dromioi-“ derives from "Dromioidae”, taxonomic family name for sponge crab.

“-Mas" derives from "Mas-culine or Male".


While the term Dromioimas describes male sponge crabs, “ Dromioifem” describes female sponge crab.
