The word "Voluti-mas" was developed by grouping a couple of relevant words to describe this breed’s gender and animal family.
"Voluti-“ derives from "Volutidae”, taxonomic family name for sea snails.

“-Mas" derives from "Mas-culine or Male".


While the term Volutimas describes male sea snails, “ Volutifem” describes female sea snails.
