The word "Nuculi-mas" was developed by grouping a couple of relevant words to describe this breed’s gender and animal family.
"Nuculi-“ derives from "Nuculidae”, taxonomic family name for clams.

“-Mas" derives from "Mas-culine or Male".


While the term Nuculimas describes male clams, “ Nuculifem” describes female calms.
